Dory and Pulse is a clearly a named ritual (with a fairly distinctive and memorable name at that). This pair of tools keeps our discussions orderly, gives everyone’s voices equal airtime, and removes groupthink so that the best ideas can emerge. Dory (named for the fish in Finding Nemo who asks all the questions) is a way to stack topics and questions for a discussion, and Pulse is a way to privately capture sentiment from a group and see where everyone stands. The answer was universal - every single person responded with Dory and Pulse, a Coda specialty they’d encountered 20 different times during their first week.ĭory and Pulse is a set of tools which we use at Coda. One Friday, I asked a group of new hires if they could pinpoint Coda’s golden ritual. In thinking about Coda’s golden rituals, I ran Bing’s test. Salesforce aligns the company with V2MOM.
